ScopeA single feature, component, or defined product area within one team.
Evidence expected at this level
What a promotion committee or hiring panel would need to see demonstrated, not just claimed, for Customer Centricity at the PM level.
- Identified a customer need or pain through direct research or data that changed a feature decision
- Pushed back on an assumption about customer behavior with evidence from real users
- Used customer language or feedback to improve a spec or brief
A real interview probe at this level
“Tell me about a time customer feedback changed a product decision you thought was already settled.”
A well-calibrated answer to this probe names a real decision, a real tradeoff, and a real outcome. Generic process descriptions do not hold up to follow-up.
