STRATEGIC THINKING

AI-Era Product Leadership

Whether you understand what AI can and cannot reliably do inside a product, including hallucination risk, data quality, human-in-the-loop design, and the governance and trust tradeoffs of actually shipping it.

← All 16 dimensions in the competency framework

What strong evidence looks like

  • A specific AI feature or decision, including the failure modes considered
  • How model behavior was evaluated before and after shipping
  • A stated business, customer, or operational outcome, not just "we added AI"

What weak evidence looks like

  • Enthusiasm about AI in the abstract with no real tradeoff named
  • No example of a limitation, failure mode, or governance decision actually made

A real follow-up question

What happens in your product when the model is confidently wrong, and how did you design for that?

Questions like this follow directly from what you just said, not from a fixed script -- they exist to find out whether an answer holds up, not to check a box.
