At the PM level, ethical responsibility means raising concerns about a product decision that could harm users, identifying a dark pattern being considered, or naming a privacy or safety risk before it ships. The evidence is a real moment, a real concern raised, and what happened.

What a promotion committee or hiring panel would need to see demonstrated, not just claimed, for Ethics & Responsibility at the PM level.
- Raised a user harm or ethical concern about a product decision before it shipped
- Identified a dark pattern in a design and advocated for an alternative
- Named a privacy or data use risk and escalated it appropriately
A real interview probe at this level
“Tell me about a time you raised an ethical concern about a product decision. What was at stake, and what happened?”
A well-calibrated answer to this probe names a real decision, a real tradeoff, and a real outcome. Generic process descriptions do not hold up to follow-up.
